Live coverage of UC Berkeley Haas Asia Business Conference 2009 @ traffichoney.com
The 2009 Haas Asian Business Conference is taking place on Saturday February 28. Online registration is now closed. But you are in luck since I will be covering the event live via CoveitLive on this blog. You can also ask the panelists live questions through me. Simply send a tweet with #Haas Asia Biz
The conference has an impressive lineup of expert panelists who will be discussing:
- how Asia can achieve independence from U.S. Financial turmoil
- how Asia can upgrade industrial sectors away from labor-intensive and environmentally damaging business models
- areas of current opportunities in Asia.
Personally I am most excited about the Entrepreneurship panel. It includes experts like:
Liam Casey, Founder and CEO, PCH International Saeed Amidi, President and CEO, Plug and Play Technology Center Umair Khan, CEO of SecretBuilders, Venture Partner, The Entrepreneur’s Fund Yangbin Wang, CEO, Vobile Yumiko Yamaguchi, US Office Manager, Medical Create
And for those of you looking at other aspects of business the conference will also include panels on technology, finance, clean technology, and global operations management as well as keynotes from individuals from McKinsey & Company, Samsung Electronics, and Passport Capital. For further details check out the Haas Asian Business conference webpage.
If you really wanted to attend but missed registration or you would like to get another perspective of the conference as it happens stay tuned. I will be covering the event via CoveitLive on this blog. You can also send you questions live as they happen with the hashtag #Haas Asia Biz

Note: Due to legal concerns the live blog had to be removed. Here is the email received from the conference organizers:
“we actually have a concern regarding the details of speech posting on your blog. This is because our speakers have stated clearly prior to the conference that they do not want their materials/presentation to be distributed to public. We were trying to VDO tape them earlier, but we couldn’t. Thus, the details listing of speech line by line may trigger some of their concerns.”
Organizers have allowed a blog with key takeaways to be posted. Keep a look out for that. I shall be posting it soon.
